11th Annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy Generates 3.5 Million Meals for State’s Food Banks

Jun 23, 2022

Atlanta, GA (Law Firm Newswire) June 23, 2022 – Members of the Georgia legal community recently rallied together to help raise much-needed funds to fight hunger with the 11th Annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy Competition. The two-week fundraising initiative raises awareness of food insecurity throughout Georgia, and this year 189 legal teams raised $880,248.08 statewide. The Atlanta area participants aided the Atlanta Community Food Bank by raising $682,424, the equivalent of more than 2.7 million meals across their 29-county service area. The annual drive is held in partnership with Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, and Feeding Georgia (f.k.a. Georgia Food Bank Association).

“Even as the worst of the pandemic appears to be behind us, many Georgia families continue to struggle with the fallout, recovering economically but continuing to struggle to make ends meet. The current inflationary environment puts added pressure on limited food budgets. We are incredibly grateful to Atlanta’s legal community for continuing this meaningful partnership and helping us fight hunger,” said Kyle Waide, President and CEO of Atlanta Community Food Bank “Their support comes at such a critical time; the impact of this collective effort will go a long way!”
Funds raised through the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy will directly impact the Food Bank’s continued efforts to provide access to nutritious food and critical resources for food insecure families, seniors, and adults across metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

We simply cannot take a break from fundraising for families and children who suffer from food insecurity.
